The documentaries of the Progam Virtual Mirrors transcend the feeling of anguish and hopelessness usually associated with documentaries on social issues, war, rights violations, and (post) conflict. Presenting characters and life stories, many of the films in this section try to find a sense -personal and collective- to the new country that is approaching, and that can be built despite the endless persistence of injustices that originated a continuous state of war. In turn, the Program Virtual Mirrors shows the sense of civil organization and resistance, common to different geographies. It stands out the attention of these films to needs around memory processes, the demand for truth, justice and reparation from less institutional approaches, in environments where there are still crimes by armed groups, dissidents, and the State itself.
