Claudia Salamanca
Visual artist and researcher. She writes about the contemporaneity of the image and its perception. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley. Her doctoral work inhabits the intersections between the fields of aesthetics, New Media and Political Theory. Her dissertation analyzes counterinsurgency theories and their relationship with the narrative of the nation in a global theater of war operations that is increasingly chaotic and speculative. Her research and artistic work provides an analysis that contextualizes the visual culture of war, its grammars, imaginaries, and technologies, and its intervention in the production of global space and national territories.
