Brett’s documentaries, The Internet of Everything, Do Not Track, OK Google, and Rip! A Remix Manifesto were a chronicle about the danger and promises of the Internet. His Augmented Reality documentary Fortune premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Brett has received the International Documentary Association Award, a Peabody Award, the Prix Gemaux, and three Webbys. Brett Gaylor is a first-generation settler in the Salish Sea. He and his family live in the territories of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples: the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. His interactive documentary Discriminator, which is part of the 23rd MIDBO Expanded Documentary Curation, was premiered in Tribeca.
