Garbiñe Ortega
Garbiñe specializes in experimental and non-fiction cinema, her practice focuses on curatorship, building audiences, and creating specific frameworks that amplify the collective cinematographic experience. Her curatorial work has been shown internationally in institutions such as the Film Society of the Lincoln Center (NY), the Tate Modern (London), the Film Museum in Vienna, the Pacific Film Archive, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the Cinematek (Brussels) and the Center for Contemporary Culture in Barcelona. She was the Art director of Punto de Vista (2018-2021), co-director of programming for the Ambulante Documentary Tour (Mexico) and is the founder of the audiovisual training and exhibition project Zineleku developed in the Basque Country. She has edited several books including Correspondencias: cartas como películas and To Light, To Love, To Time: Jonathan Schwartz. She is a professor at the ESCAC and the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.
