Joel Stängle is a German / American filmmaker. He works in North America, Europe, and Colombia, where he currently resides. His life and his films are marked by themes such as culture, memory, and the underrepresented narratives of our global age. In 2012, his feature film Acqua Fuori dal Ring premiered at the Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma, shortly afterward he dedicated his work to non-fiction. In 2014, his film Tranquilandia was part of a land restitution process for 66 displaced peasant families and was broadcast internationally.
