Juana Suárez
Director of the Preservation and Archiving of Moving Images Program, New York University. She is a specialist in the preservation of audiovisual media, teacher, and researcher of Latin American cinema. Author of Cinembargo Colombia: Ensayos críticos sobre cine y cultura, 2009 (translated into English 2012); Sitios de contienda: producción cultural y el discurso de la violencia en Colombia, 2010 and co-editor of Humor in Latin American Cinema, 2015. Translator of Latin American Cinema: A Comparative History by Paul Schroeder-Rodríguez (2020). She is currently working on a book entitled Moving Images Archives, Cultural History and the Digital Turn in Latin America and coordinates a collaborative project of digital humanities for Latin American audiovisual archives, arturita.net
