Paola Castillo

Filmmaker graduated from EICTV, Cuba. She received a scholarship from the international documentary program EURODOC 2009. Executive director of the Chilean Documentary Corporation. Deputy director of the sectorial brand Chiledoc, a public-private entity promoted by CCDoc and ProChile, whose mission is to represent Chilean documentaries in the world. She has directed and produced several recognized national and international documentaries. Paola is a teacher at the Film and TV programs at the Universidad de Chile and Audiovisual Direction at the Universidad Católica de Chile. She is a lecturer on documentary film at various Chilean institutions and Latin American seminars. She has been a jury at various film festivals and an evaluator of international funds. Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the United States and of the Chilean Film Academy. Through her production company Errante she has produced important documentaries such as Allende mi abuelo Allende, L ’Œil d’ or for the best documentary Cannes IFF 2015; and the award-winning co-productions Cielo (Canada – Chile) and Haydee y el pez volador (Chile – Brazil), among many others; and she has directed the renowned documentaries Genoveva, 74m2, La Ultima Huella and Frontera, a documentary that is part of the 23rd MIDBO program.
