Under my Father’s shadow

Yesica Liliana Giraldo is a young woman who has been recording in her notebooks the 13 years of absence of her father taken away by the armed conflict in Colombia. Her notebooks, which are part of the Salón del Nunca Más (The Nevermore Room), are a piece of written evidence that, despite the passing of time, filial bonds are unbreakable and are tensed by the threads of hope and the weight of constant suffering and melancholy. The documentary, a daily journey outline, accompanies Yesica to Granada, her hometown, to revisit her intimate spaces, her family relationships, and the reading of reflections and confessions about how she has learned to process from a very young age inconclusive grief.
