Ecuador / 2020 / 24′
A mask, more than hiding, can disclose us even above our consciousness, be it in a plane where the spirits and the past co-exists. Ángel Patricio Córdova Padilla, a nomad family men, arrives to Píllaro (Ecuador) still an adolescent. There, he discovers his passion for dancing and performances thanks to a traditional festival. Behind a colorful mask, he plays his version of the devil, allowing visual and sound textures that still beat in a celebration of hundreds of years to affect him. This film work, directed by Francisco Álvarez Ríos, exposes a personal portrait that blends with the collective one, while the devil, as a good devil, reveals to us and hides in different ways, his well-known skill.
