Wounds in the land

Gustavo Fernández builds an epic chorus with the stories from FARC ex-combatants, their families, and a Colombian society fed up with war. By laying down arms and reincorporating to Colombian civil life, his characters assume their destiny along with all it takes to be a part of a failed state unknown to them to some extent. They recognize the landscape, the territory, the wounds, and the scars of a forgotten Colombia, which is one of the few things they can hold to consolidate a sustainable living project. Cicatrices en la Tierra is a study on uncertainty and hope, about the painful beauty that emanates from the unconcluded grieving for old ideas, for a country that could not be, and the colossal challenge of building it from the ruins. Although of high complexity, the bet for peace seems a less abject form to build a new nation.
