The vitality of this documentary portrait lies in the delicacy and balance of the testimonies, their informative charge, and the affective power between what Edna, a former leader survival of tortures inflicted by the Brazilian government in southeastern Pará, says and does not say. Her traumatic experiences do not spread across the plot as a notifying gust but as a thread that goes along the edge, defining with steady but discontinuous stitches a collection of memories that threatens to dissolve. It is a disjointed, free and fragmented, but pervasive story, just as the collective memory grid itself. Disregarding any type of probatory material and avoiding the emphasis on the explicit, the images focus on the corporality and the affective and enunciating universe of Edna. An entire life in a territory devastated by deforestation,  killing of countrypeople, land dispossession, and the neglect and repression by dictatorships and democratic governments.
